i don't like thursday nights

all our Latin homework is due tonight at 8. and the home computer bit the bullet a few days ago.
i'm at sam's house right now.
it would be more fun if sam was here.

screw it. i'll get the stuff in tomorrow.

but while i'm here, i may as well finish a couple translations.

obama 09

a lot of hype surrounded this year's presidential inauguration.
which may have accounted for the large crowds in DC yesterday.
it was the most people i've ever seen at one time. in one place.
but the masses really made the trip exciting, whether you were standing on a dumpster looking out over a sea of shuffling coats and hats and faces or flirting with the nurses while waiting to get on the metro outside the GWU hospital.
yeah it was great.

belly up on the floor

and i've been thinking.
i'm not driven.
i want outcomes without any work on my part.
i'm sure anyone could relate; i want a clean room but i don't want to clean it, i want a good grade on a math test but i don't want to study, i want the food bank to thrive but i don't want to give money. i want results without the effort.
i've gotta get a hold of myself. really start working harder to get things done.
it's generic, but it's a beginning.

damn i'm lazy.

final destination

i'm sitting here having just finished a translation for Latin.
it's sort of cold; there's always a draft in the computer room.

i wish i knew where i'll be in a couple years. i mean, what's the use of putting up with drudgery if you don't know where it'll end. for instance, i could go through however many years of school and thousands of dollars and countless miserable jobs just to find my calling in a field that requires no college education. i don't think i'd mind working minimum wage if i liked whatever i was doing.

but right now i don't have plans. goals. a future.

i'm stuck in the day in day out and it's all i can do to keep up.

it'd be nice to see where all this is going.
